Bali police do check licences — carry a SIM C or, for visitors, an International Driving Permit that covers motorbikes (a car-only IDP is not enough). Helmets are mandatory and provided. Roads in Canggu and Ubud are narrow and busy; ride within your experience.

How much is scooter rental in Bali?
Basic scooters rent from about Rp 60,000 a day; bigger motorbikes and cars cost more. Multi-day and monthly rates are cheaper, and delivery is usually free on longer rentals.

What licence do I need in Bali?
A SIM C or an International Driving Permit that includes motorbikes. Bali police run licence checks, so this matters here more than most places.
