Renting a scooter is the easiest way to explore Labuan Bajo at your own pace, and the Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125 is one of the easy automatics we hand to visitors most often. It rents from Rp 90,000 a day, helmet and rain jacket included, delivered to your hotel in town. Here is what it is actually like to ride one around Flores — and the specs, further down, if you want them.
What it's like to ride around Labuan Bajo
The Soul GT 125 is a twist-and-go automatic, so there are no gears to think about — handy if you have not ridden in a while. It is light at 96 kg and parks easily on the narrow streets near the harbour. Around town and out to the nearer viewpoints it is comfortable for one rider with a daypack; two adults with bags will feel the steeper climbs slow down, since this is a relaxed 125cc, not a powerful bike.
Labuan Bajo is hillier than people expect. The Soul GT handles the short climbs fine solo, and the fuel-injected engine is easy on petrol. The tank is small at 4.2 litres, so fill up before longer runs toward Golo Mori or Rangko — petrol stations thin out fast once you leave town. Roads near the centre are sealed; some routes to viewpoints turn rough, so take those slowly.

We are a local team and have run rentals in Labuan Bajo since 2019. Message us your dates and where you are staying and we will deliver the bike, or browse the full fleet on the motorbike rental page. Bring your home licence, and ideally an International Driving Permit — police do run checks, and travel insurance can be void without the right licence.
The specs (for the curious)
If you are searching "Mio Soul GT 125cc," the bike you want is the All New Soul GT 125 Blue Core (2015 onward) — a genuine 125cc, not the older 115cc Soul GT or the 113.7cc Mio Soul FI. The basics:
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Engine | 125 cc, fuel-injected (Blue Core), automatic |
| Fuel tank | 4.2 litres |
| Under-seat storage | 14 litres |
| Weight | 96 kg |
| Wheels | 14-inch, disc front / drum rear |
It is a small, honest engine: enough for one rider plus a daypack, and frugal on long flat stretches. That is really all most riders need to know.
Which of our scooters fits your trip?
Not sure the Soul GT is the one? All three of these are in our fleet — pick by how you will ride, not by spec-sheet:
| If you want... | Rent the... |
|---|---|
| Comfort and a bit more storage | Soul GT 125 |
| The lightest, most economical ride, solo | Honda BeAT 110 |
| More pull for two-up and steeper climbs | Honda Vario 150 |
All three are easy automatics at the same daily tier. Tell us your plans on WhatsApp and we will suggest the right one.
FAQ
How much does it cost to rent a Mio Soul GT 125 in Labuan Bajo?
Rp 90,000 a day with us, including a helmet and rain jacket. Town-area hotel pickup and drop-off is Rp 30,000.
Do I need a licence to rent a scooter in Labuan Bajo?
Yes. Bring your home licence, and ideally an International Driving Permit — police do run checks, and travel insurance can be void without the correct licence. We hold a KTP or passport as the deposit during the rental.
Is the Soul GT 125 good for two people?
It carries two adults, but Labuan Bajo's short steep climbs will feel slower fully loaded. For frequent two-up riding on hills, a Vario 150 has more pull.
How many cc is the Yamaha Soul GT 125?
The All New Soul GT 125 Blue Core has a 125cc fuel-injected engine. The earlier 2012–2014 Soul GT was 115cc, and the Mio Soul FI is 113.7cc.
How far can it go on a tank?
The tank is 4.2 litres — fine for a day around town and nearby viewpoints, but top up before longer trips toward Golo Mori or Rangko, where stations are sparse.
