The Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125 is a 125cc automatic (CVT) scooter built for easy, everyday city riding, and yes, you can rent one in Labuan Bajo. At Bajo Rental we rent the Mio Soul GT 125 for Rp 90,000 per day, helmet and rain jacket included, and we deliver it to your hotel. It is one of the most popular scooters for getting around town and out to the nearby viewpoints, cafes, and beaches.

We are the Bajo Rental Team, Labuan Bajo locals since 2019. We rent and ride these bikes every day, so this guide is the practical version, not the brochure version. Below you will find the real specs, what the bike is actually like on Flores roads, how it compares to our other scooters, and exactly how to rent one.

What is the Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125?

The Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125 is a lightweight automatic scooter in the 125cc class. "Automatic" here means a CVT (continuously variable transmission), so there are no gears to shift. You twist the throttle and go, which is exactly what you want when you are new to a place and just trying to find the next beach.

The "Soul GT" name is Yamaha's sportier-styling version of the Mio line. People search for it in a lot of ways: "mio soul gt", "mio gt 125", "motor soul gt 125", and "mio soul 2019" are all the same family of bike. The "125" refers to the engine size, so when people ask about the "cc mio soul" in the GT version, the answer is the 125cc class.

It is small, light, and friendly. That is the whole point. It is not a touring machine and it is not built for serious off-road, but for a few days of exploring Labuan Bajo it does almost everything a traveler needs.

Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125 Specs

Specs above are from the Yamaha Soul GT 125 Blue Core official figures (Yamaha Motor). Note the Soul GT Blue Core is a 2015 model, so when people search "mio soul 2019" they usually mean a later rental unit of the same model, not a different bike. Our own Mio Soul GT units are 2017 models.

What it is like to ride a Mio Soul GT in Labuan Bajo and Flores

Inside Labuan Bajo town, the Mio Soul GT 125 is genuinely easy. The roads in town are fine, traffic is light by Indonesian standards, and the bike is small enough to park anywhere. If your plan is the waterfront cafe area, a sunset at Bukit Cinta, or a swim at Pede Beach, this scooter handles all of it without fuss.

The 125cc engine has enough power for one rider plus a small bag, or two light riders on flat ground. Around town you will rarely wish for more.

Outside town is where you should set expectations. Some routes into the hills around Labuan Bajo are steep, and a few have rougher patches of broken asphalt or gravel. Two adults plus luggage on a long uphill stretch will feel the 125cc working hard. It will still get you there, just slowly on the steepest climbs. If you are planning longer rides deeper into Flores, or you want more comfort at speed, a bigger bike (see the comparison below) may suit you better.

For the typical Komodo-gateway trip, where you base yourself in Labuan Bajo and take day rides to viewpoints, cafes, and beaches, the Mio Soul GT 125 is a great fit. It is cheap, light, and forgiving.

Mio Soul GT vs Other Scooters in Our Fleet

If you are deciding between scooters, here is our full fleet with daily prices. All prices are per day.

Scooter Engine Rp / day Best for
Yamaha Mio Soul GT 125 125cc Rp 90,000 Easy town riding, light and cheap
Honda Beat 110 110cc Rp 90,000 Lightest, most economical commuter
Honda Vario 110 110cc Rp 90,000 Comfortable small commuter
Yamaha Mio Z 115 115cc Rp 90,000 Compact, simple, budget pick
Honda Vario 150 150cc Rp 100,000 More power for hills and two riders
Yamaha NMAX 155 155cc Rp 175,000 Premium comfort, longer rides
Honda Trail CRF 150 150cc Rp 300,000 Off-road and rough tracks

The Mio Soul GT 125 sits right in the value sweet spot at Rp 90,000 per day. If you want more grunt for hills or two-up riding, step up to the Honda Vario 150 at Rp 100,000 per day. If you want real comfort for longer Flores rides, the Yamaha NMAX 155 at Rp 175,000 per day is our premium pick. If your plans involve genuine off-road tracks, the Honda Trail CRF 150 at Rp 300,000 per day is the right tool. For most travelers staying around Labuan Bajo, though, the Mio does the job for less.

You can see all of these on our motorbike rentals page.

How to Rent a Mio Soul GT 125 in Labuan Bajo

Renting from us is simple. Here is everything you need to know.

The price is Rp 90,000 per day for the Mio Soul GT 125. Every rental includes a helmet and a rain jacket, because Flores weather can turn fast and we would rather you stay dry. To rent, you need a valid ID or passport, which we hold or note during the rental period as standard practice.

We deliver and pick up within the Labuan Bajo area for Rp 30,000. That means you do not have to find a rental shop or walk anywhere in the heat. We bring the scooter to your hotel, hand you the keys, helmet, and rain jacket, and collect it from the same spot when you are done.

Our Mio Soul GT units rotate in and out of the fleet, so if one is not free on your dates, we will set you up with an equivalent 110 to 125cc scooter (a Honda Beat, a Honda Vario, or similar) at the same Rp 90,000 per day starting point. You ride the same easy, automatic, town-friendly bike either way.

If you have never ridden in Indonesia before, ride defensively, watch for trucks and dogs on the road, and wear the helmet. The roads in town are easy, but the rougher stretches outside town deserve respect.
